loginBased on our award-winning web interface, the MindMeister iPad interface has been designed to specifically leverage the iPad’s large screen surface, ultimately making mobile mind mapping more convenient, productive, and fun.

The MindMeister for iPad app is designed to function seamlessly with our web based online service. Based on a completely re-written snyc API, users that are out of range of, or have switched their wireless connection off, can sketch out their ideas, formulate plans, etc. on their iPad. • Share mind maps directly from the device
  • Easily create and edit child and sibling nodes
  • Add icons, colors, and styles
  • Full drag and drop support

  • Add maps to favorites

When used in conjunction with an online MindMeister account users receive the additional benefits of:

  • Export as MindManager, Freemind, MS Word, PDF and image files

We realize this has been a long time coming, and we’d like to thank each and every one of you who’ve commented and questioned the app’s progress. We took a bit longer than expected in releasing the app to the world, but also produced a completely new snyc API in the process, ultimately resulting in a much more stable mobile MindMeister experience.

The MindMeister app for iPad is now available to iPad users everywhere for $7.99 directly from the iTunes Store.

Updates: Version 3.0.1 is already in the App Store. If you’ve not already applied the update, please do so now.

Version 3.0.2 has been submitted to Apple as of 8/9 and addresses issues regarding firewalls and SSL connectivity.

  1. I bought the application, but it does not work on a French iPad updated with the latest version of iOS without jailbreak. It stops when I grab my login and password and leave completely. It does not appear translated into French. Is there a solution?

  2. We already fixed this issue in the French version and submitted a new version (3.0.1) to the Apple App Store.

  3. Any chance of having the app handle VGA output? I like having Mindmeister connected to a projector during meetings, so I will still have to use my laptop for now.

  5. I bought the Premium Account but I’m bummed that I now have to pay to use it on the iPad – shdn’t this be free for us to use since we’ve paid for the service?

  6. When will it be possible to add icons & colors on the iphone.

    Im not buying an Ipad…

  7. You can add icons and colors in the current version of the iPhone app – make sure you’re updated to the latest version though. We’ll also update the iPhone version soon.

  8. Thats strange. I´ve downloaded the latest version and cant switch from keyboard to either icons or colors etc.
    Any suggestions?

  9. Im using iOS4… tested on both 4 and 4.0.1
When are you planning to release the update?

  11. It does not work on a spanish iPad…I bought it but when trying to init it, it chrushes…

    Very dissapointing :(

  12. Single click expanding/collapsing a branch would be intuitive and fast.

Perhaps by making the little blue dot (on the right side of the node) large and give it a little more space. Or by having a + on the right side like on the desktop.

  13. Bought the iPad app and love it except for one major problem. You cannot use notes. We use these extensively and therefore the iPad app is no good to us if we cannot use notes. Is this something that is going to be added soon?

  14. Yep it is a bummer that you have to pay for the iPad or iPhone apps even though you pay for the subscription service :-(
MindMeister is an exception to most Cloud-Apps companies. Evernote, Remember The Milk, DropBox – all have their client apps including iPad for free!

  15. Hi Guys,

Just installed MindMeister for my iPad 32GB WIFI. Project file total lost upon launching app! (local) Happened twice as waited for app to launch, proceeded to return to iPad menu only to find missing file/map. Please help

  16. When will the iPad version be able to handle notes, links and tasks? This is keeping us back from adopting this as our standard mindmapping app.

  17. We’ve almost finished note and link support and will submit the app after some testing, in about a week. Tasks should follow soon after.

  18. I do love the web service and the app, but the web doesn’t work really well on iPad Safari and the iPad app is not as complete as the web and it lacks most of the features. Is there any change to see all this fixed soon?

    Regards.

  19. We’re rolling out new features in the coming weeks. We have notes and links scheduled for the next release – aiming for a late next week launch (pending Apple’s approval).

  20. Is there any way to remove an icon from a node after you’ve assigned it? I’ve add 2 icons accidentally and I can’t remove either of them.

  21. Just click the first icon in the icon list, it is the “Remove” button. The new version will have an updated UI that makes this more intuitive.

  22. Hi Michael,

Big yes for the node redesign for single click expanding/collapsing. Also looks great by the way.
(are the icons big enough/ each have enough space to touch the correct one easily?)

    Looking forward to the updates

  23. Is there an undo button? Deleting takes too much time. Suggestion: check out the IA writer for iPad thet have all the most important features.
