MindMeister is now available in presentation mode!
We’ve spoken to quite a number of you, working in various fields from education, startups, SMB’s, and Fortune 500’s, and many came back with very similar responses in what they wanted from a MindMeister presentation tool. Some focused on remote, user-to-user methods, while others were looking for a tool they could use at public speaking engagements. Both sides had very valid arguments, and ultimately we decided to serve both camps and offer two unique methods of presentation: Online and Screen modes.
Starting Presentation Mode
To get started with the presentation mode:

- Click on the map actions icon located in the footer of your active map
- Click on “Start Presentation”
- You can exit the presentation mode at any time by click on the Stop button in the presentation popover located in the top left corner of your map
Online Presentation Mode
This is a favorite of our beta teams that are remote managing workers from around the globe. Of all the feedback we received, one comment in particular stood out, “MindMeister is a great tool to convey and present information, but in collaboration mode, it’s easy to get lost in all the noise.” To solve this issue, we created the Online Presentation Mode.
This method of presenting allows you the moderator to take over the screens of other collaborators and displays all of your actions, and your actions only, to the screens of those in your session. If you make a change to node A, your group will see it; open a node here, and it’s opened around the world. All collaborators will see your changes, but are unable to alter or add to it. We’ve found that this is particularly useful when presenting a large amount of data, and want your audience to absorb it completely before adding/collaborating.
To access the Online Presentation Mode:
- Expand the Presentation popover
- Click on the dropdown arrow to reveal presentation modes
- Click the Online Presentation button
Screen Presentation Mode
Public speakers are sure to be delighted by our Screen Presentation mode, as MindMeister is now a full process tool, allowing ideas to be sketched, refined, and then presented without ever having to leave the app or access outside material.
Our Screen Presentation mode allows presenters three unique opportunities:
- Present in full screen mode
- Open topics on selection
- Center topics on selection
By checking the “Present in full screen mode” you’ll hide the MindMeister header, footer and sidebar elements. To take full advantage of this feature, we recommend you full screen your browser as well.
Selecting “Open topics on selection” will trigger closed branches to open when they are selected. Presenters will appreciate the ability to navigate their MindMeister based presentation with no need for a mouse, as keyboard commands allow for a smooth and speedy navigation of maps.
To drill down even further, and pull the audiences’ attention to your highlighted node, we’ve also included a “Center topics on selection” option that will arrange your mind map according to your selection.
Please note: While in Online Presentation mode, any collaborators will not be able to make any changes to your mind map. Conversely, in Screen Presentation mode, collaborators are able to make changes.
We’re very proud of this new feature, and hope you enjoy it as much as we did developing it. If you’ve got a MindMeister based presentation in the near future, we’d love to hear about it.

hi, I use the german iPAD version, but there is not the possibility of starting presentation mode as show below. I’m shure to have to newest version of iTunes for my iPad
The Presentation Mode is a web feature so it’s not available on the iPad app. You can however access mindmeister.com through Safari on the iPad and use Presentation Mode there.
