2. Education/Work

2.1. I have a BA in Spanish Translation from University of Maryland at College Park and a BS in Nursing from Towson University.

2.2. All my work history involves working with vulnerable communities. I have worked with high school dropouts working on completing their GED's, uninsured children of low income families and their enrollment in Medicaid or state funded insurance, and children with congenital heart disease and kidneys disease.

2.3. I am currently in the Master of Science in Health Care Management at JHU. It is my second semester in the program, I am anxious about being back in school after so many years but I am eager to learn all the program has to offer. I feel that I have already learned a great deal in just a few months, the business world is quite different from the patient bedside.

3. Registered Nurse

3.1. I have been a bedside nurse for 12 years

3.2. I work night shift on the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Children's Hospital in DC

3.3. I love working with children and their families. I particularly feel joy to see when their health has improved enough to leave the critical care unit and progress to the next level of their recovery before being discharged home.

4. Mother & Wife

4.1. I have 7 year old twin boys.

4.2. For the past 7 years I have been a full time mom and a part-time RN.

4.3. There is never a daul moment with twins in soccer, swimming and Cub Scouts, and a husband who travels on the regular.
