1. Low-fat high-carbohydrate diets
1.1. It may promote weight reduction
2. Reduce the risk for coronary heart disease
2.1. If It couldn´t, it can be major killer of diabetic patients
3. High-fat diets
3.1. Weight gain
4. If after an adequate trial of lowfat diet, weight reduction is not achieved
4.1. Patient is consuming large quantities of carbohydrates.
5. Obese patientnon-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM)
5.1. Heighten hyperglycemia, raise plasma triglycerides, and lower high-density lipoproteins

6.1. High-carbohydrate diets may further raise glucose levels
