3.1. "technology" derives from Greek words "techne" and " logos" ('What is technology', 2000)

3.1.1. "techne" means art, craft, or method, while "logos" is the principle of reason ratio account, or balance ('What is technology, 2000)

3.3.1. As time has progressed, teaching and learning has relied on the innovation of technology

3.3.1.3. Computers were introduced in 1990 in the classroom

3.3.1.4. The digital age started in 1995

3.3.1.5. 2000's were the start of interactive teaching using technology such as SMART boards

3.4. Can be defined four different ways

3.4.1. Technology as Hardware

3.4.1.1. Creations not made "naturally", but are man-made such as a belt, thermometer, a can of root beer (Dyer, 2009)

3.4.2. Technology as Manufacturing

3.4.2.1. Things used to make other things such as the robot that makes a car (Dyer, 2009)

3.4.3. Technology as Methodology

3.4.3.1. the process, methods and skills used in making hardware (Dyer, 2009)

3.4.4. Technology as Social Usage

3.4.4.1. the multiple uses and how technology can be used to help each other (Dyer, 2009)
