1. What I thought Technology was...

1.1. Before starting this course what i though technology was, is the using of material items such as smartphones, computers, cars, and appliances. I look at technology as a way to make our lives easier.

2. Creative Aspect

2.1. I choose the mind map because I like how it is laid out. I had never used this program so I was interested on how it works. I find this program easy to use and to put my ideas together as well as it flows very well. It also helps you focus on the links and relationships between ideas.

4.1. To conclude, we use technology in every aspect of our lives from personal use to our working lives. Technology can have a wide variety of definitions since it can be looked at in someone’s own perspective. It used to make our lives easier and technology will continue to grow and develop.

5. What I know now about Technology...

5.1. After reading different articles I now know that technology as many different definitions because everybody has a different view and opinion on what technology is. As well technology is not limited to just computers or smartphones. We use technology in every part of our daily lives. Ramey (2013) states, “We use technology at work, we use it to extract materials, we use technology for communication, transportation, learning, manufacturing, creating artifacts, securing data, scaling businesses and so much more” (para. 3).

6.1. “The study, development, and application of devices, machines, and techniques for manufacturing and productive processes” “A method or methodology that applies technical knowledge or tools” (Computer Fraud & Security, 2001, para 3).

7. Supporting Paragraph

7.1. Lane (2006) states, technology is not a neutral word. Many people have different meanings depending on what their viewpoint and context (para.2). “ Technology is about taking action to meet a human need rather than merely understanding the workings of the natural world, which is the goal of science”(Lane, 2006, para. 5). “It uses much more than scientific knowledge and includes values as much as facts, practical craft knowledge as much as theoretical knowledge”(Lane, 2006, para. 6).
