1. Communication Development

1.1. The children are getting into groups of four where they will discuss, and decide where they would like to set up their tent

1.2. Once the children find the space where they would like to set up their tent, with their group members the children will have a small discussion on what they enjoyed about building the tent as a group.

2. Theorist

2.1. Waldorf believed that children learn through their communities by feeling, and doing.

2.2. In building the tents the children are learning to work as a community. As well learning about responsibility, and how each person tasks can impact their groups lives.

3. Language & Literacy

3.1. Before the children get into their groups to build their tents, the educators will read a story that involves building a tent.

3.1.1. After the educator reads the tent, the children will go and build their tents. but once the children are done building their tents they will count how many tents there are, and be aware of how much space other groups may need when building their tents.

3.1.2. The children are also learning in this activity that taking care of others in your community is important because it can help develop strong bonds.

4. Emotional Development

4.1. While the children are having their discussions in their small groups, each child is expressing their emotions on how their experience went when building the tents.

4.2. While the children are building their tents, the children may show excitement towards building their tents with group members.

5. The Early Learning Framework

5.1. From The Early Learning Framework I chose to use The Importance of Relationships, because in this activity children are creating relationships with their peers, and educators.

5.1.1. Each group is experiencing similar challenges when building their tents, and are sharing similar experiences with one another that they can all relate to.

5.1.2. Each group after finishing their tent are making sure that other groups have enough space. By doing this children are thinking of others, and it provides a community where everyone is looking out for one another.
