1.1. Griffin wanted to try his experiment. He used the cat of his neighbour. And the experiment was successful. The cat became invisible.

3.2. The whole book is about the invisible man, he has become invisible by a physical experiment. His neighbour was mad at him, because he had made her cat invisible. Because of that, Griffin made himself invisible too.

4. The whole traffic is shut down

4.1. Dr. Kemp found out that Griffin, the invisible man, had wrong ideas. He called in the police and they started a search operation. The trains didn't drove and schools where closed. Only for searching the invisible man.
