1. To educate students on the global situation of clean water, investigate what is being done about it locally and nationally, and creating a solution or joining to become part of a solution.

1.1. Step 1: Educate students about the problem of clean water by giving them various videos to watch, articles to read, and questions to consider while taking in the information.

1.1.1. Students will create a slide in a class collaborative Google Slides show that informs the reader about the important information they collected as well presents new questions that they have. Students will comment on each others slides to answer questions or add insight. Students will connect with scientists through Google Hangouts that have studied water treatment and/or water pollution.

1.1.2. Students will evaluate the problem as well in these slides.

1.2. Step 2: Research in teams what solutions are available, what solutions are local? National? Worldwide?

1.2.1. Create a mind map of this information on www.mindmeister.com. A comparison of differing viewpoints or contrasting information should be present.

1.3. Step 3: Create persuasive website through Google Sites as a team that presents the problem (with evidence), proposes current solutions, and finds 1 more possible solution that can be completed by students.

1.3.1. Students create Google Sites to share information that they have found and propose a solution. This will also be a place in the lesson that students may offer a different way to display their information. Any other form of public display will be approved.

1.4. Step 4: Students write a short proposal as to which solution we as a class will participate in. As a group this will be presented to the class.

1.4.1. The class will vote on which solution to participate in as a class.

1.5. Step 5: Class participation in a agreed upon solution.

1.5.1. This stage will be highly dependent on what the class decides. There may need to be fund raisers, contact with agencies, etc.

1.6. Assessment: The student's artifacts that are created along the way will be the assessment for the PBL.
