Theoretical Perspectives

1. The Behavorist Perspective is the process in which learning occurs through factors within the environment.
2. The Interactionist Perspective is the process in which children acquire language by communicating with the world around them.
3. The Nativist Perspective proposed by Noam Chomsky says that all children have what is called an LAD, an innate language acquisition device that allows children to produce consistent sentences once vovabulary is learned.
4. The Cognitive Development Perspective shows how language is acquired as growth occur. A delay in cognitive development will cause a delay in language development.
