1. There were A lot of key inventions that the Mesopotamians invented. Such as a clock, wheel, and a sailboat. What I think there main invention was a clock, because then they now when to do things, and when to be there. Inventions nowadays are technology most of the time. Video games have been popping up as new inventions.

2. The government in Mesopotamia was weird, each city had there own rules. The government was ruled by kings. Every king only ruled a city, rather than an entire civization. The city of Babylon, was ruled by king Hammurabi. Each king made up the rules that were beneficial to there city. The government in the United States devolps around the president, the Supreme Court, the jury and a lot of different people. They also have the same rules in our country. But each state has some different rules.

3. Writing and langauge in Mesopotamia

3.1. The writing in Mesopotamia Wasn’t really writing. It was drawing, they would draw symbols or pictures of the of the object they were explaining. They went from top to bottom at first when they wrote on tablets, then they went side to side. But some people didn’t want to do that because they were used to Sid to side. So they people who wrote the tablets, would make them side to side but then flip the tablets so it looks like top to bottom. Now in the United States there are pieces of paper and computers, and a bunch of others things you can write on. We all speak English in the United States as well.

4.1. The social classes were different to ours now in a lot of ways. The men were usually the ones who went to school or school or schooling. It had to be pitch quiet with not a sound, if you made noise you could get kicked out. In our world now all genders can go to school, and you won’t get kicked out if you talk.

6.1. Geography in Mesopotamia was a lot different than what we do in geography today. Back then only certain people got to learn about geography, and now everybody has to come to school to learn about subjects like geography. The land is also good farming land in Mesopotamia because it rains quite a bit.

7. Mesopotamia had a way different culture to us now. There culture and rules were way different to ours. We have a government, they had Hammurabi’s code. Hammerabi’s Code says if a person kills another person that they shall be put to death. Our government now either sentences people to death, or life long in prison. People say it’s cruel, but it was the first written set of laws ever. There were 282 laws in Hammerabi’s code. Mesopotamians were the first people to have a house made out of clay. Which means they were one of the first civilized communities ever.

10.1. Religion is Mesopotamia was different from now. They were polytheistic in there beliefs, meaning they believed in more than one god. There are a lot of different cultures today, but 1 out of 3 people in the world are Christians. Which means they believe in 1 god, god. I know this because we talked about it in church on Wednesday.
