4.7.1. The American government's responsibility during the Vietnam war was to keep communism contained. Ho chi Minh wanted to team up with America because he idolized their independence but America refused because he was a communist. This is when Ho Chi minh decided to take matters into his own hands.

5.5. Nixon

5.5.1. Nixon was criticized for his solution for putting an end to the war. His solution of Vietnamization was fail and North Vietnam end up taking over South Vietnam leaving thousands of Americans and refugees fleeing the country before the North Vietnam soldiers to kill them. Nixon then lied about the success of vietnamization to the public. Nixon wasn't very successful with the presidency at this point and resigned as president of the untied states.

6.3.1. Toward the end of the War Nixon was able to sign a peace treaty agreement between the U.S and Vietnam. this fell short because in the end Nixon tried his vietnamization solution and this lead to America ultimately losing the war which meant America did not complete the objective. This also made the County look bad because it lost against a third world country.

6.4. Gulf of Tonkin

6.4.1. On August 2 the U.S was attacked but they did not respond. On August 4th the U.S thought they were attacked, based on these false accusation the U.S fired back and attacked. This made the U.S look bad becasue they were starting conflict between the U.S and Vietnam.

7.1.1. People worked less and mad more money.

7.2.1. People saved money but that did not matter because the banks failed

7.2.4. stocks were being bought at the wrong time.

9.3. Protesting the Vietnam war

9.3.1. from the beginning the Vietnam war was very unpopular among U.S citizens. People believed that the war was not worth fighting, event he President said so himself at one point. People believed it wasn't worth all the lives that were being lost in the war especially the soldiers. Citizens around America were enraged which lead to protests and even musical artist writing about how they didn't agree with the war. In the end thousands of people ended up dying and felt people of America feel the loss of the war
