Who Will Be Saved? by Mind Map: Who Will Be Saved?

1. Through Faith in Christ Alone? The biblical version of Universalism claims that although God wants us all to be saved, we must first work to find a place in gods Kingdom (Harrington, 2007). Through belief in christ and baptism in his name, Christians are saved from there sins and from darkness (Dulles, 2008)

1.1. John 3: 16 - For god so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever believe in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

1.2. Romans 1: 16 - For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

1.3. Mark 16: 16 - Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

2. Anyone who believe in 'God' - The idea of Puralism, is that everyone will be saved that believes in a God. 'All faiths are equivalent but offer a different way to god' (Williams, 2008). This means that even though people may have different beliefs, they will be saved as they all have a common belief that god is the sovereign ruler of the universe.

2.1. Romans 1: 18-20 -Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

2.2. Acts 17: 24 - The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.

3. God Saves Everyone? God promises to draw us all into him, and have mercy on us all. By choosing only a few to live with him in heaven, is he excluding or biasing those who do not have the chance to get to know him. Some people (and some christians) hold the belief that god will have mercy on us all and invite us all to join him in Heaven.

3.1. Romans 11: 32 - For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

3.2. 1 Timothy 2: 3, 4 - This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth

3.3. John 12: 47 - “If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.
