1. GENDER

1.1. Within the Mean Girls movie, there are a couple of different gender roles throughout the plot. Aaron Samuels plays the role of a classic teenage boy who has a fling with the hottest girl in school, Regina George.

1.2. Cady Heron plays the role of a girl who, before becoming a "mean girl", is school driven, who doesn't wear much makeup and doesn't try to impress people on the daily.

1.3. Gretchen Weiners, Karen Smith. and Regina George are all the original group of "the plastics" who are the girly type. They have expensive taste in everything from their clothing, to their cars.

2. RACE/ETHNICITY

2.1. Within the movie Mean Girls, "the Plastics" are beautiful white girls. This wouldn’t necessarily be racist, except that the white Plastics are considered the norm for popular, which indicates that other groups cannot be popular.

3. CONFLICT THEORY

3.1. The movie Mean Girls portrays the conflict theory quite well. The conflict theory involves a person of higher power who takes advantage of a lower class person or people. Conflict theory is proven through the Plastics, who think of themselves as the highest power of the school, and that everyone under them should essentially bow to them.

4. SOCIAL CLASS

4.1. The "Mean Girls" of the school drive the fancy cars, have the expensive clothing and accessories needed to intimidate the majority of the school population.

4.2. Cady's social class falls under the girls in the school who aren't to popular and don't wear the fanciest of clothes and accessories. Cady is a smart girl who also keeps up with her grades.

5. SOCIAL INSTITUTION/ROLE

5.1. Within the movie Mean Girls, School is where the plot of the story begins and proceeds. Throughout the movie, "The Plastics" invite Cady Heron to become a "Mean Girl". Known once as the sweet innocent new girl, Cady is transformed into the cliché mean girl of the high school.
