1.1. students watch and learn about Equitation type courses

1.2. create an equitation course using USEF guidelines in rule EQ 108 in the rulebook

1.3. create a course map showing correct striding for various lines based on arena size provided

1.4. compile a list of all materials needed to build the ocurse

2. critical thinking and problem solving

2.1. test ride the course

2.2. determine any flaws in course design and problem solve to find corrections

2.3. anticipate any areas of the course that are not appropriate for the level of riders and make adjustments accordingly

3. Communication

3.1. Students must collaborate to formulate a plan and determine the course

3.2. students must communicate with the show venue regarding what materials are needed

3.3. delegate tasks of arena preparation, course building, decorating, and posting the course map.

3.4. Build the course for a real world opportunity to synthesize, apply, and demonstrate the skills they have learned.
