3.1. Ubuntu 11.04

3.1.1. Pros: The installation is efficient, user-friendly and in only a few clicks the installation is under way. Application fonts look better.

3.1.2. Cons: Encounter a number of bugs, which tend to be part and parcel of new software releases. No music manager Rhythmbox.


3.2. Windows 7

3.2.1. Pros: Improved taskbar - larger icons, placeable taskbar icon order, preview and full-screen preview before switching to window. Faster - starts up, shuts down, resumes from standby faster.

3.2.2. Cons: Memory limits imposed by the OS of 192GB. No more Quick Launch Toolbar.

3.3. Mac OS X

4.1. iOS5

4.1.1. iPad2 Pros: Notifications are a breeze. Cloud syncing and backups work well. Cons: Siri requires iPhone 4S. No turn-by-turn navigation.

4.2. Android

4.2.1. Kindle Fire Pros: It's $300 less than the minimum price for an Apple iPad. An interface customized to Amazon content. Cons: It lacks Bluetooth capability, which enables wireless connection to a separate keyboard. Its apps are limited due to its content is amazon.

4.3. Windows7

4.3.1. Pros: Virtually all of the new Android tablets are running version 3.0 of the software. Doesn’t rely on being connected to a PC or Mac for updates or synchronisation of music.

4.3.2. Cons: Designed specifically for use with tablets, rather than modified from a phone OS. If you sign in with your Google Account, any apps you choose to download, whether free or paid-for, will automatically download to your device even if you purchase them via the web.

4.4.1. Pros: Supports both Android and Windows operating systems. Features including capacitive multi-touch 1024x600 LCD screen, high performance Intel Pine Trail processor, integrated DDR3 1GB SDRAM and 16GB SSD storage capacity, 1.3 megapixel webcam and full connectivity including a mini VGA port and Micro SD slot.

4.4.2. Cons: Atom powered - poor battery life efficiency, lacks the horsepower required to run Windows smoothly. Poor value - can't compete on the level of similarly priced tablets.

5.1.1. Pros: Blu-ray discs provide more storage, up to 50GB, for high-def games and movies and the PS3 will also support CD-ROM, CDR+W, DVD, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, and DVD+R. Graphics

5.1.2. Cons: existing data from PS2 titles you have to purchase an additional memory card adapter as the PS3 does not feature original PlayStation memory card slots. Also not all PS2 games play on the PS3. The price

5.2.1. Pros: Xbox 360 allows players to connect via Xbox Live and an Internet connection to play against each other. Xbox has a variety of titles from which to choose, and Microsoft is expanding the library to attract a new audience to the console.

5.2.2. Cons: Xbox may also take a longer time to load and not offer the same smooth game play. Xbox titles focus on first-person and realistic games for serious games.

8.1. iOS/ iPhone

8.1.1. Pros: App Store contains more than 500,000 iOS applications Apple's mobile operating system.

8.1.2. Cons: Originally developed for the iPhone, it has since been extended to support other Apple, Inc. devices such as the iPod touch, iPad and Apple TV. Apple, Inc. does not license iOS for installation on third-party hardware.

8.2.1. Pros: Android is an operating system for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers. Apps can be downloaded from third-party sites or through online stores such as Android Market, the app store run by Google.

8.2.2. Cons: Terrible data connection. For a 3mp camera its terrible vs. iphone is noticably better.

8.3. Windows 7 Mobile

8.3.1. Pros: Hit the search button in the people hub to find contacts, once you link all the contacts together you create a people hub. Want to know what's going on with the contact, swipe to the left to "turn the page" to the What's New tab to display the status updates and messages of the contact that has shared with any associated social networks.

8.3.2. Cons: The problem is it mashes all of these sources together, which creates a massive collection of names and contact info. The lack of a LinkedIn app for Windows Phone 7.

9. Netbook Operating Systems

9.1. Chromium

9.1.1. Pros: It won't crash. It's really fast.

9.1.2. Cons: You can't synchronize. You lose some history power.

9.2. Windows7

9.2.1. Pros: Windows 7 is easier on the eyes You can make a movie of what ails your PC.

9.2.2. Cons: The Upgrade Is Expensive Upgrading From Windows XP Requires a Clean Install.

9.3. Linux

9.3.1. Pros: Open source, stability, variety, thousands of apps for everything imaginable, constant updating and improvement, etc. Freedom from future licensing restrictions, forced paid upgrades and intrusive spyware from both the os provider and 3rd party developers.

9.3.2. Cons: Games are incompatibility with some newer hardware/devices. It's complex, advanced, and has its own AI.
