Life in the Trenches

1. The trenches were around 50 to 250 yards apart.

2. the trench was 7 feet deep and 6 feet wide.

3. There were alot of pests living in the trenches like rats,lice and frogs.

4. lice was a major problem,they made the soldiers itch and caused a disease called trench fever.

5. The British said it took 450 men and 6 hours to build about 250 meters of a trench system.

6. the bottom of the trench was usually covered with wooden boards called duckboards.
