1. atoms
1.1. the basic unit of a chemical element.
2. molecules
2.1. a group of atoms bonded together, representing the smallest fundamental unit of a chemical compound that can take part in a chemical reaction.
3. marcomolecule
3.1. a molecule containing a very large number of atoms, such as a protein, nucleic acid, or synthetic polymer.
4. organelles
4.1. any of a number of organized or specialized structures within a living cell.
5. cell
5.1. the smallest structural and functional unit of an organism, typically microscopic and consisting of cytoplasm and a nucleus enclosed in a membrane. Microscopic organisms typically consist of a single cell, which is either eukaryotic or prokaryotic.
6. tissue
6.1. any of the distinct types of material of which animals or plants are made, consisting of specialized cells and their products.
7. organ
7.1. a part of an organism that is typically self-contained and has a specific vital function, such as the heart or liver in humans.
8. organsystem
8.1. group of organs that work together to perform one or more functions. Each does a particular job in the body, and is made up of certain tissues.
