5.1. Jorge Icaza Coronel was an Ecuadorian novelist and dramatist. He was born on June 10, 1906 and died on May 26, 1978 in Quito (Ecuador). He graduated from the Central University of Ecuador, beginning to work in Colombia as a writer and theater director.
