2.1. I will advocate for students in order for them to receive the supports and services they require so they are able to access the curriculum. It is my aim to not only help students in academic areas, but to help grow socially and emotionally as well.

3.1. Importance of Collaboration

3.1.1. It is important to collaborate with families because they know their children best. Families can provide helpful insight into how a student learns best and what they are receptive to.

3.1.2. It is important to collaborate with general education teachers because they are the experts in their content, while special education teachers are the experts in differentiating instruction and providing the appropriate services and supports.

3.1.3. It is important to collaborate with other special education teachers to learn best practices. Other teachers may doing things in their classrooms that their students are responding well to. This information can be shared with other teachers for them to try on their students.
