1. February 23,1917- Smith-Hughes National Vocational Education Act

1.1. This was the first piece of federal legislation for the CTE programs. This was also the first time that the federal government invested money into the CTE in schools

2. Vocational Education Act of 1963

2.1. This was the time that the federal aid to the states was not dictated by field of study but by population of the district

3. Carl D Perkins Act 1984-2006

3.1. This is the most important act for CTE programs. Named after a Kentucky representive who was a staunch education advocate this bill has been the primary funding for CTE programs. Over the years the Perkins Act has grown and as of July 2019 the Perkins V will top $1.3 billion for CTE programs in schools

4. Every Student Succeeds Act(ESSA) 2015

4.1. This Act is the introduction of Common Core in CTE programs. This act was designed so that all students across America where taught in only the most benifical and effective way. It was also the adoption of a yearly test that would be given based off what the students should know by the conclusion of the class
