Teen Sleep: Everyone thinks have their sleep habits figured out; yet, most teens are in a deficit. What do adolescents need to know to function optimally?

1. How Much Is Healthy? -Math
1.1. Students will analyze, combine, and apply statistics to generate charts and graphs on teen sleep data for other teens.
2. Possible Deficit Effects & Problems -Technology
2.1. Students will use the computer to do internet research to extend knowledge.
3. Words to Know and Go -Vocabulary & Spelling
3.1. Students will compile and generate learning aides (graphic organizers or puzzles) for the reading materials and the new words encountered.
4. Are You Okay? -Mental Health
4.1. Students will receive interpersonal tools, conversation starters, and information to build confidence and relationships on the issue on sleep and health.
5. Research Says...-Reading
5.1. Students will read current studies, articles and data on reliable research done on teen sleep and adolescent biological development.
6. Benefits of Getting Enough Sleep- Health
6.1. Students will learn about healthy sleep habits and monitoring skills
7. Wow! Look at That! -Art & Writing
7.1. Students will create an informational presentation: poster, video, brochure, etc. This will be the FINAL PRODUCT.
