1.1. Elie vs Dad

1.1.1. Elie got mad at his dad for being weak enough to not avoid getting beaten up.

1.1.2. Elie ignored his dad when he was calling him the night before he got sent to the crematory.

1.1.2.1. "He had called out to me and I had not answered."

1.2. Elie vs Idek

1.2.1. Getting out of his workstation and snooping around, Elie found Idek having sex with a girl. Which ended up Elie getting beaten up in front of everyone.

1.2.1.1. "He took his time between lashes. Only the first really hurt."

2. MAN VS SOCIETY

2.1. Jews vs Nazi's

2.1.1. The Jews were forced to stay in the concentration camp. They were starved, murdered, and abused. They were forced to give everything up, torned apart from their families and were stripped off of their rights and freedom.

2.2. Jews vs Jews

2.2.1. When they were being transferred from Gleiwitz to Buchenwald through the cattle train. The Jews were cramped, suffocated and starved. The German's threw food through the window, which ended up with Jew's killing each other, entertaining the German's who were watching them.

2.2.1.1. "In the wagon where the bread had landed, a battle had ensued. Men were hurling themselves against each other, trampling, tearing at and mauling each other."

3. MAN VS NATURE

3.1. Jews vs the weather

3.1.1. The Jews were forced to run under the snowing condition without food, water and rest.

3.1.1.1. "On the road, it snowed and snowed, it snowed endlessly. We were marching more slowly."

3.1.1.2. "We received no food. We lived on snow; it took the place of our bread"

4. MAN VS SELF

4.1. Elie vs himself

4.1.1. Living through the holocaust there were a lot of times Elie questioned God's existence. He was slowly losing faith, and was defying their religious practice.

4.1.1.1. "What are You, my God? I thought angrily."

4.1.1.2. "Every fiber in me rebelled. Because He caused thousands of children to burn in His mass graves?"

4.1.2. Elie was constantly fighting the urge and guilt to leave his father to save himself from starvation and selection.

4.1.2.1. "And deep inside me, if I could have searched the recesses of my feeble conscience, I might have found something like: Free at last!..."

5. Elie Wiesel

5.1. Elie is the protagonist and author of the book "Night". He showed the reader how much he have grown throughout his stay in the camp. How the events that happened in the Holocaust have greatly affected his ways of thinking and character development.

6. Moishe the Beadle

6.1. A character in the book which could have made a difference if people only listened to him. He represented the last hope of the Jews, however he was ignored by many and was seen as a crazy person.

7. Mrs. Schachter

7.1. One of the character who foreshadowed what was gonna happen to them. Her foreshadowing created a big impact among the reader and among the Jews who refused to listen to her.

8. INHUMANITY

8.1. The Holocaust where the Jews were annihilated. They were dehumanized, starved, murdered, and were treated like an animal by the Nazi's.

9. FAMILY

9.1. The significance of family is lost. As the condition in the camp got worse, people were starting to feel selfish and indifferent to try and save their own, without acknowledging the fact that they only have each other in the concentration camp.

9.1.1. "In this place, it is every man for himself, and you cannot think of others. Not even your father. In this place, there is no such thing as father, brother, friend."

10. NIGHT

10.1. One of the theme in the book is Night. Because it emphasizes the death of the million people and death of their faith. It symbolises the last night of many people whether it be in the camp, their life, or their innocence.

10.1.1. "Never shall i forget that night, the first night in camp, that turned my life into one long night seven times sealed."

11. FIRE

11.1. The fire represents the hell that they experienced under the hands of the Nazi's. It also represents the crematory, in which millions of people died.

11.1.1. "Look at the fire! Look at the flames! Flames everywhere...."
