1. Neurotransmitters - allow communication between nerves
1.1. Low levels of neurotransmitter results in impaired neurotransmission and contributes to cognitive impairment
2. Melanin pigments - give pigment to skin and hair
2.1. Low melanin levels result in hypopigmentation
3. Metabolites - further broken down to provide energy
3.1. These metabolites are rarely used to provide energy as they are at very low levels.
