1. Summative
1.1. Definition: A type of test that measures the knowledge of students after going through an entire unit.
1.2. Examples: 6 week Test, STAAR Test, Semester Final
2. Performance
2.1. Definition: Students have to perform a certain task to exemplify the skills learned from a unit or lesson. It is not so much of a written multiple choice test.
2.2. Examples: hands-on creation project, portfolio, presentation
3. Diagnostic
3.1. Definition: A teacher can give this kind of assessment to see where the strengths and weaknesses are of the students before starting a unit.
3.2. Examples: Pre-test, survey, KWL
4. Closing Questions:
4.1. Create a word problem containing two different types of rational numbers.
4.2. What are examples of similarities and differences between rational and irrational numbers?
5. Formative
5.1. Definition: Process of gathering evidence of student learning.
5.2. Examples: 3-2-1 assignment, exit ticket, think pair share
6. Interim/Benchmark
6.1. Definition: A type of an assessment a teacher would use occasionally to see if the students are on pace for getting the curriculum through the end of the year.
6.2. Examples: 6 or 9 week assessment, quiz halfway through the unit to see if students will be ready for the Unit Test in time

7.1. What are some examples of rational numbers?
7.2. Are all natural numbers whole numbers?
8. Guiding Questions:
8.1. What is the first step in multiplying 9/4 and 7/3?
