1. Value-based
1.1. mystery question, What do all of the holidays have in common.
1.2. loves literature, bounces everything off of literature. Children hear rich language, and get an understanding of different perspectives of authors.
2. Challenging
2.1. Students are encouraged to raise their hands when answering questions, and listen to the speaker. Students are constantly being asked what they are thinking.
2.2. Students are always being asked why? and how? and would you like to learn? and do hands on activities. They need to experience the concept before they can understand the abstract of the concept.
3. Active
3.1. Students work in groups, and interact in a group while having a discussion.
3.2. Teacher has centers set up pertaining to what they are learning in the classroom.
4. Meaningful
4.1. Teacher gets the students to expand on their thinking and brings the learning down to their level.
4.2. Students celebrate holidays from different countries
5. Integrative
5.1. Learning about Communities, and read the book about Malanka which is about communities athe world.
5.2. students made different foods, and practiced different traditions for different countries.
