Correctional Officer Corruption

1. Favoritism/Personal Bias
1.1. Not punishing an inmate for bad behavior/crimes because the police officer favors them
1.1.1. Not punishing an inmate because of his race vs punishing an inmate because of his race
2. Proper Training
2.1. Not being able to handle a difficult situation/handling it their own way because of lack of training
2.1.1. New training techniques not being adopted by older officers who don't want to adhere to modern policies
3. Entertainment
3.1. Instigating inmates by starting problems between them so as to get a reaction
3.1.1. Letting inmates psychically fight which leads to broken bones, cuts, etc that need to be treated
3.1.2. Rise in medical expenses, more money going to prisons rather than schools
4. Bribery/Extortion
4.1. Bribe criminals for money to turn a blind eye to their crimes behind bars
4.1.1. Increase of contraband in prison, P.O's working for prisoners
5. Inmate abuse
5.1. Not reporting excessive force on an inmate by staff
5.1.1. Not listening to inmates who report abuse from other inmates which could lead to death, lawsuits, and fights
6. Pay
6.1. Officers feeling like they are not getting enough pay for the work that they're doing
6.1.1. Not doing their job correctly, letting many bad things slide allowing corruption to grow
