2.1. “if clause” iki cümlecikten meydana gelirler ve bunlar “if” cümlesi ve temel cümlesi olarak adlandırılırlar. Koşul cümlelerinde koşulu “if”in bağlı olduğu cümle ifade ederken temel cümlede ise o koşul sağlandığında gerçekleşecek eylemi, yani sonucu bildirir. Bu tür cümlelerde anlam cümleye “if” cümlesi ya da temel cümle ile başlansa da aynı kalır. Sadece “if” cümlesi ilk önce kullanıyor ise temel cümleye geçerken virgül kullanılır.
