1. 4. Conclusion

1.1. These two characters from two different stories, Ben and Michael, show both similarities and differences about their character throughout both stories.

1.2. Both characters are not int he same situation, Michael has lost both of his parents to death. He has barely any guidance and is angry with the world. Ben's problem is not as severe, he is trying to adapt to a new environment but he has his family with him.

1.3. Although I have stated both similarities and differences between these two characters, I believe they both have grown throughout their stories in a way to shape their character.

2. 3. Second Paragraph

2.1. Some differences that Ben and Michael have are that Ben moved because his father got a new job. Michael moved because both of his parents passed away.

2.2. Ben has an interest in animals. Michael gets a pet and shows interest in the animal but that is not because he is very interested in animals, he is in fact, trying to fill his loneliness.

2.3. Ben ends up making friends at school, Michael does not.

3. 1. Introduction

3.1. The Night of the Spadefoot Toads and "Shells" has a lot of similarities and differences between the characters. Two characters that I will be focusing on are Ben and Michael.

3.2. Ben is new to his environment because him and his family moved to Massachusetts from Arizona. He shows character traits such as, adventurous, lonely, and caring.

3.3. Michael is new to his environment as well because he moved in with his Aunt Esther. Michael shows character traits such as, lonely, angry, and sad.

4. 2. First Paragraph

4.1. Some similarities that Ben and Michael have are that they are both young boys who need to adapt to new environments.

4.2. They are both the new kid at school and they both have a difficult time making friends. They feel lonely.

4.3. They both feel like they are not understood by the adults in their lives.
