1. The Townshend Act

2. There were 36,500 more troops in the British Forces that the Continental Army
3. It offended the colonists that the taxes were used to raise money for England
4. 25,000 slaves and freed slaves were on both sides
5. 5 civilians died during the Boston Massacre, Crispus Attucks, Samuel Gray, James Caldwell, Samuel Maverick, and Patrick Carr.
6. British government was treating colonists unfairly (extra taxes, unfair trials limited freedoms)
7. Colonists tried to prevent buying British goods and start protesting because they were mad because the british parliament kept making them pay taxes.
