Imperialism and colonial powers

1. In what period in history
1.1. Modern colonialism began in the mid to late 16th century to around the middle of the 20th century. So that's about 400 years.
2. Resources that the country had
2.1. Valueble commodities like: gold, silver and gemstones
2.2. Other commodities like: sugar, tea and spices
2.3. Slaves
3. Consequences
3.1. Countries that were colonized in the past have big problems now with their economy and governance since their colonizers left. The colonizers gave stability to the countries at the cost of the individual's rights.
4. Example of countries that have been colonial powers
4.1. England (the largest one)
4.2. Germany
4.3. Belgium
4.4. Denmark
4.5. France
4.6. Italy
5. Countries which have been colonized
5.1. All of Africa with Liberia as an exception
5.2. Most of the Americas with an exception of French new guinia which still is a European colony
5.3. Large parts of asia e.g. India, UAE, KSA, Singapore and North Korea.
6. Colonisation today
6.1. Falkland islands
6.2. Cayman islands
6.3. Gibralater
6.4. Guam
6.5. French polynesia
6.6. There still exist colonisation to some degree but they dont have as much governing power as they used to.
