1. Closed questions have only the possible answer and usually lead to simple one word respond
2. Open questions have more than one possible answer and invite elaboration leading to complex answer
3. Questions are fundamental in engaging students in interaction and exploring how much they understand
4. Display Questions, when the teacher knows the answer.
5. Genuine or referential questions, when the teacher may not know the answer
