1. Feeding/Digestion

1.1. Octopus - Feed on crabs, snails, shrimp, and other mollusks.

1.2. Octopus - The waste is excreted through the posterior end.

1.3. Nephridia filter food for excretion.

1.4. Has a beak-like mouth

1.5. They are carnivores

1.6. They all have sucker-bearing tentacles that are used to capture and hold prey.

1.7. The number of tentacles range from 8 in an Octopus to 90 in a Nautilus.

2. Senses/Response

2.1. Octopus- Colorblind, Suckers with small touch sensors

2.2. Squid- Giant axon that helps the squid sense things

2.3. Nautilus- Poor eyesight, mainly relys on sense of smell

3. Movement

3.1. Cephalopods have a jet-like propelling system that sucks water in and then shoots it back out, causing the movement. Also, to help it move, they use tentacles that are close to their body to help swim.

4.5. siphon takes in water; water expelled through mantel cavity

4.7. Chromatophores are cells that contain colored pigments. Many change color in response to their surroundings.

5. Circulation

5.1. Octopus - have a closed circulatory system with 3 hearts - 2 hearts function as the right chamber of humans heart, and get oxygen and send it to main heart

5.2. Cuttlefish - closed circulatory system three hearts that transfer blood -2 heart supply blood for gills - 1 heart for the rest for the rest of the body

6. reproduction/life cycle

6.1. female squid has an ink sac

6.2. squid - nidamental gland and ovaries used for fertilization

6.3. female suid houses eggs until born

6.4. octopus - males have a modified arm with rows of sperm

6.5. female octopi lay eggs - depending on water conditions it takes 2-10 for eggs to hatch

6.6. octopi - new ones are on they're own they live for 3-5 years

6.7. nautilus- eggs take 8-13 months to fully develop

6.8. nautilus eggs hatch and are about 1 inch in diameter and starts with the shells 7 chambers and as it grows it adds new chambers

6.9. nautilus life span is 7-20 years

7. Respiration

7.1. Have a pair of gills.

7.2. Epidermis - outer layer of the skin.

7.3. The mantle takes water into body.

7.4. Change gasses with sea water by forcing water through gills.
