3.1. Dream-sharing

3.1.1. Dream sharing is the practice of creating a dream and bringing one or more people into that new dream world.

3.2. The subject

3.2.1. The subject's role is to populate the dream space created by the dreamer with projections of his or her own subconscious.

3.3. The kick

3.3.1. One method used to awaken from a dream within a dream is called a "kick", which is the sensation of falling or hitting water can startle the sleeper awake.

3.4. The sleepers

3.4.1. A sleeper is a person who is experiencing a shared dream.

3.5. The dreamer

3.5.1. The dreamer's role is to construct and maintain a dream space. Often the dreamer will add personal touches to his or her own dreams.

3.6.1. Projections are the images of people or objects within dreams that are "projected" by the sleeping subject's subconscious mind.

4. Story

4.1. Dom Cobb is a thief with a rare ability to enter peoples' dreams and steal their secrets from their subconscious. Cobb gets a chance at redemption when he is offered a seemingly impossible task: Plant an idea into an heir to a business empire's mind. If he succeeds, it will be the perfect crime, but a dangerous enemy anticipates Cobb's every move.
