1. WHAT IS AN ADVERB?
1.1. a word or phrase that modifies or qualifies an adjective, verb, or other adverb or a word group, expressing a relation of place, time, circumstance, manner, cause, degree, etc. (e.g., gently, quite, then, there ).
2. WHAT IS AN ADVERB FOR?
2.1. to change, modify or qualify several types of words including an adjective, a verb, a clause, another adverb, or any other type of word or phrase, with the exception of determiners and adjectives, that directly modify nouns.
3. ADVERBS OF MANNER
3.1. Quickly, rigorously, carefully; slowly, persuasively, equally, justly, etc.
4. ADVERBS OF QUANTITY
4.1. A lot, a little, much, enough, all, most, etc.
5. FOCUSING ADVERBS
5.1. Even, particularly, especially, specifically, merely, only, just, also, either, purely, too
6. ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY
6.1. always, usually, never, often, sometimes, generally, occaionally, frequently, etc
7. ADVERBS OF RELATIVE TIME
7.1. just, afterward, soon, currently, presently, recently, already, still, yet, etc.
8. ADVERBS AS ATTITUDE MARKERS
8.1. frankly, clearly, obviously, naturally, fortunately, hopefully, really, surprisingly, astonishingly and apparently.
9. ADVERBS OF PLACE
9.1. Here, everywhere, near, nearby, down, away, backwards, upwards
10. ADVERBS OF DEGREE
10.1. Almost, fully, rather, quite, too, enough, perfectly.
