1. BP > 140/90

1.1. Times two, 4 hours apart

2. Preeclampsia

2.1. +1 proteinuria, headache, edema may be present: facial, hands

3. Severe Preeclampsia

3.1. Includes all preeclampsia manifestations plus: BP > 160/110, +3 proteinuria, oliguria, cerebral/visual disturbance, hyperreflexia(increased DTR's), clonus, epigastric pain, thrombocytopenia

4. Eclampsia

4.1. Includes all severe preeclampsia manifestations, and now progresses to seizure

5. HELLP: Hemolysis, Elevated liver enzymes, Low Platelet

5.1. Results in thrombocytopenia: bleeding at puncture sites, blood in urinary catheter drainage bag, etc

5.2. If Gestational Hypertension is left untreated it can result in DIC

5.2.1. Bleeding and clotting occuring at the same time, resulting in massive hemorrhage

6. PROGRESSION
