4. UNIT 1: Leisure Time & Boredom through history - How did the social construction of leisure time & boredom emerge and evolve through time?

4.1. GOALS

4.1.1. - To expand students' knowledge of the evolution of the concept of leisure time through history in order to understand its importance, its benefits for people’s life and as a right gained.

4.1.2. - To help students develop linguistic and technological skills to construct an infographic about the evolution of leisure time through history.

4.1.3. To make students aware of taking advantage of their leisure time and the misconception of boredom.

4.2. END-OF-UNIT PRODUCT

4.2.1. An infographic about the importance of leisure time and the misconception of boredom including their social construction concepts, their evolution through history, the right to have leisure time and their own list of tips to encourage young people to take advantage and to make good use of their free time.

4.3. - To expand students' knowledge of the variety of activities involved in leisure time to make good use of their free time as regards sports, educational, artistic, cultural events, etc.

This project aims at: - encouraging students to develop a greater understanding of the importance and benefits of leisure time and the concept of boredom. - developing the spatial intelligence of our students by expanding their capacity to read, interpret and create digital maps and to engage in relevant and collaborative writing and oral interactions to foster language development and critical thinking. - taking actions that can contribute to raising awareness about the importance of making good use of leisure time for young people avoiding actions that may lead to bad habits.
