1. Iranian revolution terrified Saudi Arabia.
2. also a religious threat because saudi arabia claimed to be the religious leaders because islam's two holiest sites were in saudi arabia.
3. saudi arabia "sponsored" iraq in the war to keep iranians from winning and invading.
4. iranians and saudis are complete opposites in everything.
5. countries collapsed as more pressure was put on.
6. 1979 iran's muslims fought back to their unfair prime minister. and overthrow the Shah, causing real tension to rise
7. Ottoman empire collapsed after ww1 leaving the tribes all wanting power. The AL- Saud conquered most of the peninsula and in 1832 they became Saudi Arabia.
8. Iran was also trying to invade but they had a harder time because they were alway in foreign intervention.
9. Both countries were heavily backed by the US.
10. Saudi Arabia and Iran are always involved. they never fight directly but they support apposing sides and and creating conflict.

17. Iran and US made a long term deal that will prent iran to obtain a nuclear program in exchange for the oil prices to go back up.
