1.1.1.1. Atticus is a father because he cares, loves, protects and teaches his children. Atticus is a major role model for his children, he shows them how to stand up for what they believe in, teachings of life and how everyone deserve a fair trial.

1.2. Fair Man

1.2.1. 'The one place where a man ought to get a square deal is in a courtroom, be he any color of the rainbow, but people have a way of carrying their resentments right into a jury box.' p243

1.2.1.1. Through this quote we can see that Atticus is a fair man. He believes that everyone is equal and deserved a fair chance.

1.3. Gentleman

1.3.1. 'Atticus is a gentleman.' p109

1.3.1.1. Atticus is a true gentlemen because he poses all the traits of one, which are responsibilities , education, humility,courage, respect, honesty and stoicism.

2. FEELS LIKE

2.1. Courage

2.1.1. 'What did Francis cal him?' 'A nigger-lover.' p95

2.1.1.1. Atticus had courage to take on the case of Tom Robinson because he believed that it was a case worth fighting for. He new that taking the case would result in bringing danger to him and his family. But he was willing to take that risk because he believed that he Tom was innocent.

2.2. Empathy

2.2.1. "Atticus was right. One time he said you never really know a man until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them." p308

2.2.1.1. Atticus is empathic because he understands how other people think and feel. He also gets that you can not judge or understand someone until you see how they view life. Which is the basic principal of empathy.

2.3.1. "If he wanted to stay inside his own house he has the right to stay inside free from the attentions of inquisitive children." p54

2.3.1.1. Through this quote Atticus shows that he does care for people who are less fortunate or suffered worse them him and that he has sincere sympathy for them.

3.1. Parenting

3.1.1. “You just hold your head high and keep those fists down. No matter what anyone says to you, don’t let ‘em get your goat. Try fighting with your head for a change…it’s a good one, even if it does resist learning.”--Atticus (pg. 76)

3.1.1.1. In this quote Atticus is telling Scout to stop fighting with her fists and start using her head. This shows good parenting skills as Atticus knows she may have a tussle, and he doesn't want that because of the Tom Robinson case.

3.2. Lawyer

3.2.1. "A nigger-lover. I ain't very sure what it means, but the way francis said it - I swear before god if I'll sit there and let him say somthin' about Atticus" p95

3.2.1.1. This quote is about francis attacking at Atticus about being a nigger-lover. Atticus Dosen't care about who he works for because he isn't a resist and this is proven with Calpunia

3.3.1. "Courage is not a man with a gun in his hand. It's knowing you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do."

3.3.1.1. In this quote you can see that Atticus is trying to say that courage doesn't mean a person with authority over people but courage means never giving up even if the odds are against you.
