Amendment II of the Constitution (1789) : a well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. by Mind Map: Amendment II of the Constitution (1789) : a well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

1. 1789: The Constitution of the United States of America, Amendment II states that a regulated individual has the right to keep and bear arms, and when necessary

2. The protection and rights to bear and keep arms for safety or well being or property has helped families remain safe/protected

3. The right to bear arms for hunting etc.

4. Necessary gun laws and changes must be made. Many people argue this will take away their right as an American, they should not suffer for others and their abuse of arms. However, everyone must take in to consideration their sacrifice can help save the lives of not just children and school shooting but also shootings around the world in civilian to civilian altercations.

5. The amendment when written did not expect guns (arms) to be as they are now. The problem now is that many people have access to guns with multiple rounds.

6. The constitution is not as relevant as time change. The society it was written for has changed drastically, more people and aspects must be addressed to better fit our world as it is today

7. It would be difficult to introduce or attempt to restrict arms, with the American right for freedom of speech or to bear arms, violence would occur should the government try to revoke this right.

8. The second amendment has challenges as it cannot keep up with the world changing drastically, it no longer fits the society in which is was written.

9. Personal experiences include not being surprised but devastated when another public shooting or school shooting occur. It is awful and seen too often in our country.

10. With so many Americans preaching their rights, not many are willing to see that this given right in the 1700s meant something entirely different. What has become a norm for us, was not what was intended. Yet, because they have had this right all their life, they are not willing to give it up.

11. Challenges that this amendment brings is devastating and should be reconsidered

12. As a future educator, school shootings, should not be a concern for students

13. Statistics show "there were at least 44 incidents of gunfire on school ground in 2020, 12 deaths and 20 injuries occurred in 2020 so far."

14. Gun ownership and access is an issue that MUST be addressed

15. Civilians are scared in public settings because they never know who is carrying or allowed to have large firearms

16. Mass shootings are a product of this amendment. Those who defend the right for people to have whichever arms they want, fail to see that there is no reason someone should carry rifles with so many bullets. They have intent to use it.

17. The guns that we have today can kill crowds in seconds, it has a devastating outcome.

18. The second amendment has different context today than it previously did. (in the panel) it's addressed that previously former slaves had no protection from police so the right to bear arms was necessary. Guns were not as the are today, adding to the idea that our society has surpassed what the constitution was written for/ to address

19. The constitution needs edits or more addressed, not completely thrown away. It did not previously acknowledge anyone but white men, no women, no other races. We have included other who should be included it necessary to do the same with growing differences such as arms. Technology and arms have evolved and so must the amendments that must be relevant to our society now not in the late 1700s.

20. The goal would not be to take away the right to carry but to limit what is able to be sold or carried. Hand guns are reasonable, machine guns or semiautomatic rifles should not be.
