1. Characters:

1.1. There is always a protagonist and an antagonist.

1.1.1. Protagonist - main character of the story, has a conflict to overcome or a goal to achive.

1.1.2. Antagonist - stands in the way of the protagonist and its goal, opposes the protagonist.

1.2. They are an important part of the story, they create the story, each of them having a role or purpose.

1.2.1. The plot revolves around the central characters.

2. Point of view:

2.1. It shows the readers who is telling the story, and allows people to understand the reasons why the story is being told.

3. Theme:

3.1. It is why the story is actually about. The narrative might have a major and minor themes.

3.1.1. Minor theme - its a subtle idea, that doesn't necessarily repeated throughout the narrative.

3.1.2. Major theme - its the main idea of the narrative.

4. Conflict:

4.1. It is the conflit that gives life to the story creating tension and building suspense, which are the elements that make a story interresting for the reader and makes they keep reading. If there’s no conflict, not only will the audience not care, but there also won’t be any compelling story to tell. Basically the conflict is what drives the story. Without some sort of conflict, there’s no story. It’s just a boring statement. Conflict is what grab the audience, and makes them want to know more and more.

5. Plot:

5.1. Sequence of events in the narrative. Includes setup, rising tension, conflict, climax of the story and the conclusion.

5.1.1. Setup - the story behind the journey of the protagonist, what was happening in the characters lives. It's usually over when the conflict is revealed.

5.1.2. Rising tension - the obstacles that the protagonist has to overcome before the climax.

5.1.3. Climax - the highest point of tension in the story. It usually changes the main characters point of view, perspective or behavior.

5.1.4. Conclusion - It's the resolution of the conflict. It's when the protagonist overcomes the conflicts and obstacles, learns to accept it or is defeated by it. It is where the journey ends.

6. Relationship teacher-student:

6.1. As we can see, without a book "The Catcher in the Rye"the relationship between teacher and student, goes beyond studies.

6.2. Teacher Spencer wanted to accompany the boy in his future, even though he knew he was lazy and sloppy. Even though the boy didn't like some of the teacher's attitudes, he went after him, to say goodbye.

7. Phony:

7.1. The definition of phony in Holden’s point of view is to include anyone who is not all genuine at all times or that Holden doesn't like. People who are Charming, wealthy, friendly to others, attractive, superficial or fake are phonies according to him.

8. Setting:

8.1. It's the time and place in which the narrative takes place.
