Work, Energy, and Power
by Jailynn Hicks
1. Work
1.1. Work is a dot or scalar product of the vectors, force, and displacement.
1.2. Measured in newton-meters (Nm). One of these equal one joule.
2. Energy
2.1. A particle has energy because of it's motion.
2.2. To find the kinetic energy of an object the formula is KE=1/2mv^2
3. Power
3.1. Power is the rate at which work is done.
3.2. Measured in Watts (W). Which is equal to a joule per second ( J/s).
