ADDIE by Mind Map: ADDIE

1. Analyize

1.1. The first step or phase in the ADDIE Model where the need for training or education exists or you have identified a gap in existing curriculum. This is the phase to define target audience, business goals, training methodologies, media types, and develop your analysis of training needs and a training plan.

2. Design

2.1. This phase determines design goals such as tools to be used to gauge performance, various tests, subject matter analysis, planning and resources. For example, determine what the level and types of activity to be created in a lesson. The outcome of this phase is to develop an overview of the course design and determine course materials required.

3. Development

3.1. In this phase, use the information from the last two phases to determine what needs to be taught to the students. Your will basically draft, produce, and evaluate. The outcome is the actual course content, the use of learning content management systems (LCMS) is ideal for development..

4. Implementation

4.1. In this phase you will actually conduct the course. You will look at potential redesigns, updates, and edits to the course in order to ensure that it can be delivered effectively. The outcome of this phase is that your courses are ready to be offered and completed.

5. Evaluation

5.1. Is the final stage of ADDIE. Evaluations can include both formative (i.e. tests during a lesson) and summative (rate the course materials or instructor). Their are various various methods used to collect the data such as questionnaires, surveys, interviews, observations, and testing. The outcome of this phase is to collect data for potential curriculum updates or revisions.
