1. Analysis

1.1. The learning situation is defined and clarified

1.2. Current situation assessed, knowledge gaps determined, questions asked about the audience, needs, goals, and objectives of the project. "How" the goals will be achieved drives future steps.

2. Design

2.1. The approach to delivering instruction is decided

2.2. Strategy determined, structure, duration, and types of assessment determined. Storyboard is produced and/or prototype created.

3. Development

3.1. The learning design is used to create the instructional product

3.2. The learning module is created guided by the storyboards/prototype. Course content is created and assembled. The project is reviewed and any necessary revisions are made.

4. Instruction

4.1. Learners use the instructional tool, and learning is monitored

4.2. Learners are trained on the technology, project is delivered, tracked, and data collected. The course is live and learners may start and complete it.

5. Evaluation

5.1. Effectiveness of the model is evaluated

5.2. Have learners fill out surveys at the end of course. Review data and determine whether or not goals were met. Identify other training needs and whether or not the current model needs new media or a change in approach.
