1. W.W. Jacobs

1.1. William Wymark Jacobs (September 8, 1863 - September 1, 1943) was a British humorist, novelist, and short story writer. He is best known for one of his ghoulish tales as The Monkey's Paw, included in the storybook The Lady of the Barge (The Lady of the Barge, 1902). Most of his work, however, belongs to the humorous genre.

2. Summary

2.1. Chapter 1:

2.1.1. On a rainy night, a family was happy, playing a board game, but a visit came, it was Tom Morris, an old friend of Mr.White, who was soilder in India; he told them wonderful stories about an that conuntry, so much so that even Herbert and Mr. White wanted to go there.

2.2. Chapter 2:

2.2.1. The Mrs.White didn't like that idea; then they came to the topic about an object called "Monkey's Paw" that consecrates 3 whises to 3 people, and also brings unhappiness to whoever had it. Mr. Morris was terrified of that thing, because one of his friends had obtained it but it ended very badly, and so did he; but Mr.White conviced him to give ir to him.

2.3. Chapter 3:

2.3.1. When Mr. Morris left, the White family thought that the monkey's Paw was a lie, and they did not believe that he granted wishes, but Mr. White said it was true and he was even afraid of making a wish to avoid misfortune ; then Mrs. White and Herbert convinced him to ask for money, since they needed it, and so it was, Mr. White made that wish, but nothing happened; the next day, everything was normal, but Mrs. White and Herbert still thought it was a lie and laughed. Herbert went to work as usual ... moments later a very elegant and strange man was at the house of Mrs. and Mr. White, he told them that Herbert had died in an accident at work, being that for this they were given the amount of money they asked for.

2.4.1. 2.6.1. After a few days after Herbert's death, Mr. and Mrs. White were sad, and they no longer spoke much to each other. Mrs. White remembered that they still had two more wishes, so she told her husband to ask to see Herbert, he told him to think well, since they were told that they could not see her son's body, but she insisted on seeing him.

2.7. Chapter 7:

2.7.1. At the end they asked to see Herbert, then there was a knock on the door, Mrs. White ran, since she knew it was her son, but Mr. White said no, not to go, but Mrs. White did not listen and continued running to the door, then Mr. White asked that everything return to normal, and when they reached the door there was no one or anything.

4.1. Mr Morris:

4.1.1. He wished he had a car, money, and lost everything.

4.2. Family:

4.2.1. They asked for the money they needed, to see Herbert again and for everything to be normal again.

5. Moral of the Story

5.1. We must leave our life as it is, that is, not despise what we have and be happy with it, so as not to fall into disgrace.

6.1. I liked the book, it was easy to read and understand, and I also liked the way we read it, it was easy and entertaining.
