3.1. An operating system is the most important software that runs on a computer. It manages the computer's memory and processes, as well as all of its software and hardware.

4.1. Control over system performance - Monitors overall system health to help imrove performance. Records the response time between service requests and system response to have a complete view of the system health.

4.2. Security - The operating system uses password protection to protect user data, antivirus to protect against malicious attack, and using firewall which acts as a filter to check the type of traffic entering to the system.
