A.S.P.E.C.T.
by Fernando Quesada
1. T is for Timeliness: Timeliness is important because if you use a cite from 1995, I do not think that site would apply to something happening in 2012. Has it been updated recently?
2. E is for Evenness: Without evenness how do you know if the site will exaggerate, and make the opposite look much worse than it is? If it is biased does the author admit it?
3. C is for Coverage: Coverage is important because if it only covers a small portion of what you are looking for it is not worth it to look through the site for hours to find one small fact. Does it cover everything?
4. S is for sources: We need sources to tell us if the site is not stealing information from sites or books. Does the site have a sources page?
5. P is for Purpose: Without purpose you do not know if the site will help you at all. Ask yourself: Is this site here to help me, or entertain me?
6. A.S.P.E.C.T. : A.S.P.E.C.T. is important for evaluating a website.
7. That's All!
8. A is for Authority: We need authority to tell us if the author really knows what he/she is telling us.
