Validity and Reliability

1. criterion-related: Used to correlate scores with an external criterion. Two types : concurrent and predictive.
1.1. construct: Needed to show evidence that a relationship to other information corresponds well with the same theory.
2. Validity
2.1. content: Used to inspect questions to see whether they correspond to what the user decides should be covered .
3. Reliability
3.1. test-retest: Used to assess the consistency of a measure from one time to another
3.1.1. alternative form: Used to obtain an estimate of the reliability
3.1.1.1. internal consistency: Used to measure a single basic concept.
