2.1. Week 1-Playing with Technology (Objective I)

2.1.1. DB1: Introduction Voki

2.1.2. DB2:Start YouTube account and create a channel

2.1.3. Twitter Account and Scavenger Hunt

2.1.4. DB3:Create a blog, place introduction (about yourself and where you are headed) and submit url

2.1.5. Readings:McGonigle & Mastrain Chapter 6 Fraser: 1,2,7

2.2. Week 2-Utilizing Technology (Objective II,III)

2.2.1. DB 4- Pick a professional nursing or healthcare organizations (MONA, ANA , CDC) Explain how they utilize social media and information technology to influence healthcare, healthcare policy, or advance professional practice (Objective II)

2.2.2. DB5- Start Twitter Project- place Twitter name in DB board (Objective III)

2.2.3. DB6 YouTube library- Choose at least one video each on the technologies in week 1 on your YouTube channel that depict ways to use these technologies in healthcare

2.2.4. Readings: McGonigle & Mastrain Chapter 1,2, 6, 10, 17 (to be read in preparation for week 3 Informations Systems Prezi or PowerPoint assignment)

2.3. Week 3- Nursing Informatics (Objective I, III,IV,V)

2.3.1. Information Systems Prezi or PowerPoint Project assigned- Due week 5 (objective I, III)

2.3.1.1. Explain Nursing Informatics

2.3.1.2. the benefits and drawbacks of HIT addressing at least one technology for healthcare providers and patients

2.3.1.3. Provide ways that organizations can alleviate problems regarding the technology you have chosen (workflow issues, end user issues, implementation issues

2.3.1.4. Discuss legislative and privacy issues regarding HIT and ways organization can protect information

2.3.2. DB7-YouTube Library Project- (Objective V)

2.3.2.1. Add at least three videos to your library that depict Christian worldview in healthcare ,

2.3.2.2. In DB provide links to videos and discuss one video and why you chose these videos and how they represent Christian worldview in healthcare

2.3.3. Readings: Continue readings assigned in Week 2

2.3.4. Start a Mind Map

2.3.4.1. Utilize the mind map to organize thoughts for the Information Systems Prezi or PowerPoint assigned. Submit the mind map with the PowerPoint or Prezi in Week 5

2.4. Week 4-Delivering Knowledge through Technology (Objective II, III)

2.4.1. DB-8 YouTube Library Project-

2.4.1.1. Post a minimum of least three videos to your library that address education to nurses in your area of practice.

2.4.1.2. Post a link to one of the videos and discuss how the use of this video could assist in the delivery of holistic evidenced based health care

2.4.2. DB9 Twitter Discussion Board-

2.4.2.1. Find an article that pertains to improving workflow of the EHR, post it to Twitter and engage in a discussion with classmates regarding workflow issues encountered.

2.4.3. Readings: Chapter 16 McGonigle & Mastrain

2.5. Week 5- Deliver the Content

2.5.1. Information Systems Prezi or PowerPoint due

2.5.2. Submit Mind Map

2.6. Week 6- Read the Material

2.7.1.1. Discuss the ethical issues with technology in healthcare on your blog and post a link. Leave comments on your classmates blogs (EHR, HIPPA, Social Media)

2.7.1.2. Tweet out your introduction blog and ethical blog for extra credit points

2.8. Week 8- Spread the Knowledge

2.8.1. You Tube Video Library Final Project

2.8.1.1. Create a video depicting the responsibility of nurses in advanced practice to use informatics to promote consumer information, education, community/population health and safety
