1. Twitter

1.1. Twitter is a social networking site founded in 2006 by Jack Dorsey.

1.2. It allows users to 'tweet' 140 characters

1.3. Each users has their own page with basic information about them. It is designed to be like SMS messaging.

1.4. The features include 'followers'. When you follow someone, whatever they 'tweet' will come up on your home page. You can share pictures and videos on to your wall. The @ sign is used for users username. By using a #, you can trend a topic on the share page.

1.5. It is helpful for events managers as they can create a page and 'tweet' and trend about upcoming events.

1.6. The issues surrounding twitter are that you can only tweet 140 characters, meaning that you are limited on what you can say.

2. Instagram

2.1. Instagram is a photo sharing app founded by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger and launched in October 2011

2.2. It allows users to upload, edit and share photos with other users.

2.3. Each user has their own page with the pictures they have uploaded and their basic information. When uploading a picture you can add a caption, tag other users, include a hash tag and share the picture on other social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

2.4. Its features include a home page in which you can view pictures of people you have 'followed', including an option where you can like the photo. One of the app main features is the editing of the photo you upload. These include different effects that you can use on your images.

2.5. It is helpful for events management as the company can upload the services they can offer with previous events.

2.6. The issues with Instagram is its limitation. Because you can only access the site on a application, it is only available on certain app stores.

3. Facebook

3.1. Facebook is a social networking site founded in 2004 by CEO Mark Zuckerburg

3.2. It allows users to 'Add' people that they know.

3.3. Each user has a 'Wall page' which shows their friends what they have been up to with their 'status update'

3.4. It has varouis features such as Photo and video sharing, creating an event and instant messaging

3.5. It is helpful for events managers as they can promote their events and set up pages for their companies so users can 'like' their page to get information. This is a skillful way to promote an event

3.6. The issues surrounding Facebook are mostly with its founder Zuckerburg, who has been to court a number of times because of copyright reasons. The issues with Facebook itself is that if your profile settings are not on private, anyone who has a Facebook account can see your personal information. It also can lead to problems such as cyber bullying.
